Statistics and study criteria

Statistics describes past draws and helps you compare criteria for a study. Choose the draw interval and the main or bonus pool before interpreting a chart.

The main pool and the Mega Ball have different ranges. Their frequencies, delays and possible group sizes should be read separately.

Frequency and delay

Use frequency and delay views for the selected pool and group size offered by the interface. Confirm the start and end draws, then compare like-for-like intervals.

A delay is a description of how long a number or group has been absent in the data being examined. It does not mean the number must appear in the next drawing.

Filter statistics

Choose a filter and inspect the distribution of its values in the available history. Review which observations fall inside and outside the proposed limits before applying them to a study.

The meaning of grid filters depends on the lottery’s configured grid. Read the definition instead of transferring a row or column limit from another lottery.

Keep the rule period in view

The current Mega Millions bonus pool ends at 24. A historical period under an older matrix must not be treated as though it had identical ranges and entry conditions.

Record the interval, selections, limits and filters when comparing studies. Change one criterion at a time if you want to understand its effect.

Take the criteria back to the study

Use the analysis to choose your own selection and limits in the Laboratory, then review the generated and filtered quantities. A pattern that describes the past can still exclude a future winning combination.
