Choosing the main numbers
The main-number grid contains numbers from 1 to 70. A basic Mega Millions entry uses five distinct main numbers. Select a larger pool when you want to build combinations or a covering system.
The number of selected main numbers is not the number of entries. The generation method, fixed numbers, groups, filters and Mega Ball handling all contribute to the final set.

Mark and review
Use the grid to select numbers. Clear all and Select all act on that selection panel. Check the regular and fixed counters before continuing; the separate bonus panel has its own controls.
A number may appear in both the main pool and the bonus pool, but those selections have different roles. Marking a main number does not select the Mega Ball with the same value.
| Concept | Example |
|---|---|
| Selected pool | Eight main numbers in the study. |
| Entry size | Five main numbers in each basic entry. |
| Full combination count | C(8,5) = 56 main-number combinations, before bonus handling or other restrictions. |
Use statistical information as context
The Statistics assistant supports analysis of the historical data available for the lottery. Confirm the draw interval and the selected criterion before using that information to shape a study.
Historical frequency and delay do not make a particular number due to appear. Use the statistics to describe and compare your criteria, rather than as a prediction of the next drawing.
